Top Ten Beauty Must-Haves 2010

Moisturiser

One of the simplest ways to protect and nourish your skin is to use a good moisturiser every day. This is not only important for your face and neck but the rest of your body too! Invest in a good quality night and day cream for your face and neck, and separate creams for body and hands. Don't forget to moisturise your feet too, cracked heels are not a good look!

Bottled water

Water is a beauty staple and it's a great idea to get into the habit of keeping a bottle of it close by, particularly at work where it can help to control snacking too. We would recommend investing in a water filter; that way you can refill your bottles without breaking the bank.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

We don't often endorse products but we love Vaseline's 'Rosy lips' Lip Therapy and it has won it's place into our favourites. It smells gorgeous, protects and softens lips, lasts for ages and is very affordable. Brilliant!

YSL Touché Éclat

Another product that we are happy to mention by name. Touché Éclat by Yves saint Laurent is known in our office as the beauty industry's magic wand. The fabulous formula reflects light, concealing dark circles, highlighting where needed and softenning flaws.

Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara

The last product that we will specify by brand, Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara was a recent winner in the Marie Claire Prix D'Excellence beauty awards and we agree that it lengthens, plumps and separates lashes effectively, leaving you with stunning eyes.

White eyeliner

We recommend adding a white eyeliner to your eye makeup collection so find one in your favourite brand and keep it handy. White eyeliner is fantastic for brightenning tired eyes, apply a little to the inner lower eye lid for a photo shoot or evening out and you'll see what we mean.

Red lipstick

Every girl must have a red lipstick and it couldn't be more fashionable right now so find a shade that suits your skin tone and go for it! Don't forget the eyes/lips rule; if you wear red lipstick keep your eye make up simple.

Perfume

Keep a small or tester size bottle of your favourite perfume in your handbag, you never know when you may want to use it and it's nice to have that 'signature scent' that people recognise as you walk by. Follow our advice here and keep it subtle, spritz the air and walk into the cloud of perfume rather than applying direct to the skin.

Deep conditioner

All year round your hair feels the force of the elements and a regular deep conditioning treatment will really help to keep it soft and smooth. Buy a good one that suits your hair type and use it at least once a week.

Electric toothbrush

Nothing finishes your look like a bright smile so invest in an electric toothbrush to give yourself a head start, we promise you won't go back!

What Hair Color Is Right For You?

So, you decide you want to change your hair color because either you are bored with your current hair color or you have begun to notice those grays coming in. You then run to Target to pick up a box of hair color, come home and use it and as to the results...you hate it! Why is that? Because you have to take in many variables about yourself before choosing a color. The best place to do this is at a hair salon.

2009-hair-color3

One of the first things a hair stylist will take into consideration is your skin tone and whether you fall into the cool or warm categories. The color of your eyes are important as well. The current shade of your hair color is what is the last deciding factor on what shade to go with. The color of clothes you wear is also taken into consideration. This is when a color chart comes in handy. The hair salon can give you a hair color chart upon request. There are also many places on the web to find a good color chart if you want to be prepared before going to the hair salon.

If you are a brunette it is particularly difficult to choose a color because if you go too dark your face will appear pale and if you go to light your hair can turn red. It is also difficult to know whether to use highlights as a brunette. If you are blonde you do not want your color to turn out muddied in appearance or too white. If you are a redhead you do not want your color to appear brassy.

Again, a professional hair stylist can help you with all these decisions. Especially a hair salon with a salon color bar which are becoming a popular trend popping up in cities all over the U.S.

When choosing a hair color your best bet is going to a hair salon to guide you into making the right choice. Even if you decide after to go home and color your hair.

Eyebrow Piercing - To Pierce Or Not To Pierce?

Eyebrow piercing is not just for the rock stars of the world anymore. The punk/alternative rock scene was a haven for it in the past. Nowadays it has become fairly common for teens and even adults to sport eyebrow jewelry.

The most popular eyebrow jewelry tends to be the barbell or the simple ring. Most people I knew who had their eyebrows pierced when I was growing up, were cast as the "weirdo's" or alternative crowd. Really it comes down to what makes you as a person most comfortable with the way you look. Some people use piercings or tattoos to make some sort of statement. I have heard arguments for social, political, and even religious statements for the piercings.

Piercing seems to be a much wiser choice than getting a tattoo, if you are prone (as I am) to change your mind. People change their minds and that is just a fact of life. What it really boils down to is personal choice. Your body is your temple and you should be free to "decorate" how you seem fit.

Certain eyebrow piercings can look great. Sometimes an individuals face shape can play a role in how good one or two eyebrow piercings might look. As with anything, if done tastefully, eyebrow piercing can be a good way to express your self.

With any piercing it is important to take proper care and sanitary precautions. There is always the risk of infection and complications so be sure that the person performing the piercing has ample experience in doing so.

Benefits of using Orange Lipstick

There are at least three ways you can use orange lipstick. First thought is quite obvious: use it to cover your lips with different color. Orange lipstick is a trend this year and a lot of superstars including Kate Winslet or Charlize Theron. Superstars know how to impress everyone around and are keen on following current fashion trends. Imagine yourself wearing orange lipstick in the night club! All this jealous looks! You better be confident because this color is reserved for confident women.http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTAFVNV4jZEWtXLPhu_Oi76_6LFdXutfc1NR1hJrYvZuKIjLOM&t=1&usg=__xJKhqLApmesKsS8WYkw5hIHk7Qs=

If you are not confident to use it on your lips try a trick which will help you to cover circles under your eyes. How does the orange lipstick do its trick? The dark circles under your eyes are not really black, they are more blueish in color. Because orange and blue are opposite each other on the color wheel, they cancel each other out when mixed together, creating a neutral shade.

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSb-HZ4m78TXLRefQ5M_NcepmvVT3_8MOorysEbXZU-_JKUtR0&t=1&usg=__iYQfU9dE7DwTOuhVdAv6VW5leTE=

Another way of using lipstick is to mix orange with red one. You can easily find a ton of tutorials online on how to do it. Most important thing to remember is to choose correct shade of red or orange which will be easy to mix. It is also the most difficult part of the whole process and requires some experience. It is good if you have a friend to support your choice.

Despite the large amount of online and offline shops it is not easy to find a quality lipstick in this color. But the benefits of a product and its multi-functionality makes it worth purchasing, even though prices can be a little bit higher than other colors lipsticks.

Summertime Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup is great all year round, but in the summer it's especially handy. Every makeup wearing woman has noticed how makeup "melts" off in the heat due to perspiration. Most don't know there's something they can do about it. The following are tips to use for keeping your makeup looking great all summer long.

When you use mineral makeup, be sure to use a primer. Primer is simple. Just dab it on after moisturizing and use exactly like a moisturizer. Primer helps set the mineral foundation. Don't go too heavy with your mineral foundation, as you will inevitably sweat in the heat and when too much foundation is used, it will streak.

It's a good rule of thumb to go light by day and heavier by night. So, during the day use a summery shade of mineral lipstick or gloss. Mineral lipstick is nice in summer because it is very creamy, moisturizing and protects your lips from harmful UV rays.

For cheeks, a pink or peachy shade is best for summer. Too much glimmer or glitter during the day can make you break out and looks tacky, so keep it toned down enough to look natural. A healthy glow is best. To find where the blush should be applied, flip your head upside down for about thirty seconds. When you flip your head back up notice where your cheeks naturally flush. This is where your blush should be. Apply in small circles, concentrating on the apples of the cheeks.

Bronzer can be very tricky for daytime summer looks. Mineral makeup bronzer is a lot easier to use because the colors are more natural. It's a good idea to load a soft blush brush with bronzer and tap off the excess. Begin on the forehead in the center next to the hairline and sweep the bronzer along the face in a big E. the middle of the E should be the cheekbone and the bottom of the E should be the jawline. If you go too heavy with the bronzer simply blend it with a little more mineral foundation.

For the eyes, don't use more than three colors. Highlight the brown bone with a light color; usually white or ivory. A soft color on the eyelid will do nicely. A slightly darker shade can be used in the crease. Use the same color you used to highlight the brow bone on the inside corners of the eyes next to the bridge of the nose. This will make the eyes look more open and widely set. To finish off the eye shadow use a very fine brush and use the same highlight color so sweep under the lower lashes under the eyes. This will also help you look more away and wide eyed.

Apply mascara in two coats. The first coat should be very quick and should be allowed to dry before the second coat is applied. For the second coat begin at the base of the lashes and move the wand from side to side, then outward and up. This will give a more thorough coverage. After the mascara has dried apply your favorite eyeliner sparingly, or not at all. Too much eyeliner isn't right for summer, so try to keep it simple.

The Best Makeup to Wear for a Red Dress

When you've found the perfect red dress for your event. That's wonderful. One of your next big choices will be...what type of makeup should I wear?

There are many aspects that come into play when choosing your makeup. Specifically, the color and undertone of your skin, and the type of red you're wearing. Don't dismay, it doesn't have to be overly complicated.

Here are some basic points that will help you make the best choice.

Foundation: Whichever foundation matches your skin, make sure that you apply it evenly and lightly. Red is an intense color, and it doesn't need anything competing. You want to be remembered for having a great look not a garish one.

Lipstick and Lipgloss: If you're wearing a red dress, try and find a color that matches the red dress perfectly. If you can't find this, try the same color type (fire red, cherry red, dark red etc.) in a darker hue. Another great alternative is choosing a nice neutral color. If you're dark brown with a red or golden undertone try a brown that matches your skin tone than choose a gloss or lipstick with a slight red or orange added in. If you're tan, look for a gloss or lipstick with a golden color. If you're olive tones, try a light brown, with a gloss overly, and if you're pale, a light rose pink, can help to highlight your lips just right, without being over bearing.

Eyeshadow: Have fun experimenting but stay within the range of reds, orange, browns, bronzes and that general area. Once again don't be afraid to try a more nude color, but unless you're going punk, stay away from bright colors, or visibly contrasting like green, blue, yellow, etc. If you do that, you'll wind up looking clownish.

Nails polish / varnish: Very similar to what you do for lips, if you're choosing a nail color, it should match the red you wear, be slightly darker, but in the same general color tone of the red you're wearing or be a more neutral style, such as a french manicure, beige or light brown.

Blush / Rouge: Unless there is some pressing need to wear rouge (for instance, you'll be taking a lot of professional pictures, or your makeup should be able to be seen from stage. I don't recommend it at all. Your red dress and other makeup will be enough to highlight your face. If you're looking to highlight cheekbones, use makeup closer to your shade to contour your face.

Following the above simple steps on choosing the best color makeup for your red dress, will help you look your best in your best red dress!

10 Mascara Tips and Tricks

One of the best-selling cosmetic products available, mascara makes wimpy lashes look thicker, longer, and more voluminous. When used correctly, mascara can dramatically improve the appearance of eyes, making them look larger, brighter, and more noticeable. Here are ten easy tips for flawless, clump-free mascara each and every time.

Tip #1: Find the right mascara
Mascaras come in two formulas: water-soluble and waterproof. Water-soluble mascaras are lighter and easier to remove, but won’t hold up to extreme humidity. If you are an athlete, live in a humid climate, or are prone to watery eyes, opt for the waterproof alternative.

Tip #2: Choose a color to compliment your complexion.
Black mascara isn’t for everyone. If your skin is fair or has yellow undertones, or if you have light hair-such as blonde or red-you may want to try brown mascara for a more natural look.

Tip #3: Apply powder under the eye
Heavy creams and oils, such as those found in moisturizers and concealers, will attract the pigment in mascaras, causing them to smear. To avoid unsightly under-eye circles, dust a thin layer of loose or pressed powder under the eye to absorb any excess moisture.

Tip #4: Line your eyes
Using a coordinating shade of eyeliner, line the eyelid at the lash base. This will open the eye and define its shape, as well as give the appearance of fuller lashes.

Tip #5: Curl your lashes
To give straight lashes more volume, curl them using an eyelash curler. How to do it: clamp the lashes near the root, and hold for 20-30 seconds. If you’re curling your lashes after applying mascara, wait until they are dry. Wet lashes will stick to the trough pads, leading to follicle damage or loss.

Tip #6: Clean the brush
Using a clean tissue, wipe any excess mascara from the wand. This will rid the brush of any dried-on clumps, resulting in a smooth, even coat.

Tip #7: Coat the full lash
Applying mascara only to the bottom of your eyelashes will make them heavy, causing them to droop. Instead, apply an even coat to both the tops and bottoms of your lashes, starting at the base and wiggling the brush from side to side as you move to the tip, coating the full lash.

Tip #8: Mix and Match
For a dramatic look, apply a coat of volumizing mascara followed by a coat of lengthening mascara on the tips. For best results, apply the second coat while lashes are still wet. Applying wet mascara to dry mascara will coat the lashes unevenly, causing clumps.

Tip #9: Choose the right brush
Mascara brushes come in an array of shapes and sizes, and are often as unique as their respective product formulas. Thick brushes with several narrowly-spaced bristles are best for full-coverage or thickening mascaras, while longer brushes with bristles set farther apart are best to lengthen and separate. Brushes with tapered ends are best to paint the lashes at the corner of the eye.

Tip #10: Removing mascara
Whatever your choice of mascara, removing it shouldn’t be difficult. Apply a small amount of eye-makeup remover to each eye, and gently wipe away using a warm, damp cloth until the product is dissolved. Avoid rubbing the eye, which can cause the sensitive skin around it to stretch and sag. If you’re in a pinch, baby oil will also break down the wax in mascaras, but because it doesn’t contain cosmeceutical ingredients (like natural plant extracts or Antioxidants), won’t provide any additional benefits.

Once you’ve found a mascara that is right for you, be sure to make note of the brand and color. (Hint: There’s a sticker on the bottom of the tube.) To keep mascara free of bacteria and contaminants, it is recommended you replace your tube every three months.

Easy Makeup Tips for Women Over 40

Everyone turns over 40 years old sooner or later but why must you look that way?

Here are a few great makeup tips for those over 40 but would never admit it.

As with all makeup you need to start with great skin. Before you start any makeup application you need to cleanse then moisturize your face. Make sure you moisturize with creams and serums that are rich with retinols, antioxidants and peptides to help wage war on those all tell all fine lines.

Also before applying foundation use a silicone rich primer to help create a smoother finish. Makeup for those over 40 means we may need to start wearing foundation to help over up some small problems that have turn up. There are some who skin will never need to foundation but some will. Sun spots are common for those over 40 and a little concealer with foundation will help with that.

If ruddiness (redness) is a problem, try this:

Start by applying a sheer foundation and apply more light layers of foundation over the areas that need more coverage, then gradually build it up till you have full coverage.
You will find that a yellow based foundation works best, but do try to match it to your own personal skin tone.
Test on your jaw line in natural light if possible. Don't test it on the back of your hand when trying out foundations, the skin tone won't match and you will find that the color of foundation will be not quite right. If possible look at your skin in a natural lighting to see if the foundation you are thinking of buying looks correctly.

Playing up your eyes:

Eye shadows that you wore when you were in your 30's just may not be right now. Yet someone had come up with a silly rule that once you hit 40 its time to put away all your favorite vivid greens, purples, pinks eye shadows. Rules are not the same any longer, just change a little. All you need to do is stay away from any eye shadows that are iridescent because they will accentuate any fine lines that you may have.

Still, feel the need to wear one of your favorite color of eye shadow that's a bit wild?

Do this which is a up date for those who wear makeup over 40.

Start with your makeup primer, then apply a neutral color, your browns, beiges, bone then layer over that your favorite I'm not over 40 eye shadow. Best for parties but why not have fun?

Don't forget your eyeliner either. Just apply along your lash line then smudge it to help give your lashes a fuller look. Be careful with the color of eyeliner you choose, black may be too harsh for you now. Also don't forget to curl your lashes before applying your mascara as a way to open up your eyes and if you want really long full eye lashes look into Magic Lash Eyelash Enhancer.

Just because you have turned over 40 means your makeup doesn't need to change, just change a little. Tone down some colors, you may want to start wearing foundation if you didn't already do so. Start using a cream blush instead of a dry blush, simple things such as that. Drink lots of water and go back to taking on the world at on your terms.

Why Perfume Became So Popular?

This is a question asked my many of us who are allergic to strong perfume fragrances. Perhaps the belief that perfume acts as an aphrodisiac holds its own to other more practical reasons to use these aromas.

Historically, perfume can be traced to the early Egyptians who mixed smoldering resins and woods and used them in their religious ceremonies. It was believed that perfumes were pleasing to the gods and would earn them better places in the next world. These deeply spiritual people were so concerned about keeping the gods pleased that containers of various perfumes were placed throughout the burial site. Some sources indicate that similar perfumes were used in. Evidence as to the strength of the perfume used was first experienced when the tomb of King Tutankhamen was open and the fragrance wafted through the open door. The fragrance was present for over 3,000 years!

In more contemporary times, a story is told of Napoleon, Emperor of France, who sent a letter to his lover Josephine telling her that he was returning home from battle within the week and directing her to not bathe until they had seen one another. Rarely are we ready to be in the same room with someone who has not bathed for several days so what was behind Napoleon`s letter?

Those who research human interaction, have discovered some unusual information regarding particular scents. It is believed that some of us have our appetites triggered by specific odors. Interestingly, our `fragrance center` is located in the same area of our brains with the arising of emotions. Perhaps this explains some specific actions such as an adult smelling a certain aroma and that triggering an emotion from his/her childhood.

Moving forward in history, we find the use of perfumes in the lavish Roman baths. Here, the bathers often applied perfume two or three times a day! Pets (dogs, horses) were often perfumed and during certain festivals, birds were released from their cages in order to spray them with perfume. Most of us would have stopped perfuming with dogs and horses, but not the Romans. They also liberally applied perfume to furniture, accent pieces and other household items. Of much interest is the evidence that servants wore different scents from non servants.

Most sources of information regarding perfume, note that the perfume container has always indicated the pleasantness or desirability of a particular scent or type of perfume. My own research has found fairly simple perfume containers many with near astronomical prices.

Perhaps the most significant information for consumers is that scents do not smell the same on all people. Because we each have scents of our own, some perfumes will react negatively and the desired effect of the perfume negated. It is important to test a scent before investing $50-hundreds of dollars in a small bottle!

Not all perfumes are alike. They have been identified as such: Perfume, which is the strongest and has the longest lasting aroma; Eau de Perfume, which is used to layer in preparation of the body for perfume; Eau de Toillett, much less concentrated that the others and is reported to smell much better than it would seem to indicate; Cologne, is the lightest fragrance and only lasts for a brief time.

Correct application of the perfume is also essential in conveying the desired scent. Perfume should be applied to pulse points such as the wrist, the inner elbow, neck, and behind the ears. These spots also provide heat necessary for the dissemination of the aroma.

Lastly, it is suggested that perfumes be applied following a shower and that they be applied directly to the skin and not to clothing. The advice to spray perfume into the air and to walk through the droplets has been found to be a myth.

Great Makeup follow 7 steps

1. Avoid wearing too much

Makeup is meant to enhance features not bring negative attention to you. That's what wearing too much makeup will do; it will bring you unwanted attention. Don't wear too much of anything such as:

i) Eyeliner: dark, thick eyeliner will make you look overdone and will ruin the rest of your makeup.

ii) Mascara: too much mascara looks fake and will flake. It looks especially bad if worn with thick eyeliner or dark blue eye eye shadow.

iii) Foundation: Make sure your foundation is the same color as your skin. Foundation is meant to protect and give the face a smooth look. The magic word is blend.

iv) Powder:The same holds true for powder - not too much. Also, be sure to blend your makeup so there are no obvious lineS

2. Lips

Apply lip liner to completely cover the lips, add color and your lipstick will stay on much longer. Make sure your lip liner doesn't show. Also, your lip color should match your skin tone; wear cool colors if you have cool coloring and warm colors if you have warm coloring. If you want to make your lips look smaller, keep your liner on the inside of your lips. However, if you decide to make your lips look larger, going outside the natural outline of you lips is a mistake. This can look quite messy and unnatural.

3. Appropriate makeup
Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach you shouldn't wear the same or as much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Also, when you are in daylight your makeup should be a lighter than when you are out for the evening.

4. Too little or no makeup

Some women don't wear makeup because they are not sure how to use it and are afraid of being overdone. If you are unsure, start will light colours in your shade. Start slowly and add one product at a time. Maybe start with foundation, add mascara, blush or lipstick. If you are not used to wearing makeup, using a lot a first may be a little too much for you, so start slowly. The bottom line is a little is better than none. If you are still unsure seek professional advice.

5. Overall look

When your makeup is completed it should look natural. That means avoiding colours that clash. If you have dark skin and hair you will look better in darker shades; light colours will make you look washed out. If your hair and skin tone are light, light colours will look better on you. Dark makeup will make you look older and harsh. If you have oily skin, first use oil control moisturizer and foundation. Then be sure to wear loose powder, keeping pressed powder with you for touch ups.

6. Hair color

Your hair color should also be in harmony with your skin. If you have dark hair and you want to add color, keep it close to the same shade. If you have light hair, use light colors. As you age your skin will lighten, so should your hair color. One last thing about hair color - if you do color you hair be sure you keep it up, don't let your roots show.

7. One last thing

Keep makeup looking fresh all day by doing regular touch ups. Don't let your makeup fade or crease. Smile!!!

10 Model Beauty Tricks

Makeup has played a dispensable role in most women's life. In their opinion, they should make up well to look much more beautiful.

Glamour's Suze Yalof Schwartz went behind the scenes at Fashion Week to find out how they do it. Now she's giving you lessons!

1 Easter egg colors are your friend.

4542603706_f7d81b4a6f_o.jpg

We're loving this cheery remix of the smoky eye. Just swap your charcoal shadow for the grown-up pastels makeup artist Dick Page used on models at Michael Kors. He lined their eyes with black pencil, then added gold shimmer in the inner corners. Next, he applied light blue or purple shadow along the lower curve of the eyes and from the lash line to just above the crease, then smudged, smudged, smudged. He finished with black mascara.

2 Pretty eye shadows to try.

4542603710_7ecc591f84_o.jpg

Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Bone, Fondant and Provence.

3 Fab skin and lip savers.

4542603712_a437e78f89_o.jpg

A one-minute way to glow?

Darphin Aromatic Renewing Balm. For a cheaper moisturizer alternative that's easy to track down, check your medicine cabinet - a bit of petroleum jelly works too.

4 Orange is the new red (lipstick).

4542603716_25b7c53500_o.jpg

We saw this again and again backstage and learned the trick to pulling it off: Just pick one spot to play up. Makeup pro Lucia Pica chose the cheeks at the Erin Fetherston show. She rubbed creamy orange blush onto the models' cheekbones with her fingers - a nice, bright contrast to their smoky brown eyeshadow.

5 A lipstick to love.

4542603718_8eaf03bb94_o.jpg

At Rebecca Taylor, makeup artist Rie Omoto used MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger on the models' lips. Apply it with a lip brush for more control.

6 A cure for tarantula lashes.

4542603722_0ed72cc6b7_o.jpg

In between primping models at BCBG, vice president of MAC makeup artistry Gordon Espinet taught me his secret for keeping lashes defined and clump-free: Apply mascara with a fan brush, left. Just rub it over your mascara wand, then brush it onto your lashes—the stiff bristles are great for separating. How genius is that?

7 Try a textured mani.

4542153353_f7e1fda573_o.jpg

Think of your nails as a showpiece accessory (they're jewelry, but cheaper), and apply a polish with sparkle - like chunky glitter or gold flecks - built in. "It's all about texture," manicurist Elle told me at the Reem Acra show. Another way to wear the trend: Try a dark, opaque shade, with a sheer, shimmery layer on top.

8 Do an unboring decorated bun.

Classic chignons are a runway staple, but the best ones this year got dressed up with fabric. At the Tibi show, hairstylists Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri confessed that they used leftover fabric to frame the models' updos. And at Jason Wu, hair pro Odile Gilbert used sheer black cloth to add drama to the models' hair. "It's fresh and spontaneous," she said. To DIY, twist your hair into a bun, wrap fabric around it and make big loops with the material, pinning them into place as you go.

The super-intense lipstick combo MAC artist Romero Jennings used for the Jason Wu show made me want to take a temporary hiatus from my usual nudes - it's that gorgeous. First he applied a deep berry matte lipstick with a lip brush to create a base. Then he added a creamy eggplant shade on top, pressing it in with his fingers for a modern, stained effect. You can perfect the line with a cotton swab or a lip brush (no liner needed). As for your eyes, keep them simple like Jennings did. Apply bronzy shadow and brown liner, then curl your lashes. So fresh!

10 Add texture to your ponytail.

Why Ted Gibson loves the roughed up look: "You get a really interesting ponytail rather than the same old version you always wear." At Lela Rose, Gibson spritzed sections of the models' wet hair with hairspray, then rolled the pieces with his fingers while blow-drying for messiness. Laurent Philippon used a crimper to go punk at Monique Lhuillier. Crimp a big front section and pull your hair back, keeping the sides of the pony slick. Secure with an elastic, then crimp down along the tail.
